The small side door is for the chickens, so they can get in and out of the shelter. The nesting boxes are attached to the exterior of the coop. This chicken coop has a gable roof. You can easily build a chicken pen and attach it to the coop, so the chickens can go out and take a walk. This coop can shelter up to 20 chickens.
